A custom domain replaces minily.org with a domain you own—so your short links read as go.yourbrand.com/summer-sale instead of a generic shortener URL. For brands, this matters: a recognizable domain signals legitimacy and keeps the click inside your own identity rather than someone else's.
The honest scope: this is a Pro feature (5 EUR/month), not part of the free plan. The free plan lets you brand the alias (the part after the slash) but not the domain itself. If owning the full URL matters to you, that is the upgrade you are paying for.
MiniLy keeps setup deliberately simple—one CNAME record—and provisions SSL automatically, so branded links are served over HTTPS without you touching a certificate.
Connecting a domain is a three-step process that usually takes a few minutes plus DNS propagation time:
link.mybrand.com) in your dashboard.A subdomain is the most common choice because it leaves your main website untouched. Every link on your custom domain gets the same real-time analytics as a default link, and there is no per-domain fee—Pro users can add as many domains as they need.
Custom domains pay off wherever brand perception affects the click:
The boundaries, plainly: custom domains are not available on Free—they require Pro, and team-shared domains require Enterprise. If you cancel Pro, custom-domain resolution pauses: your links are preserved and keep working via the default minily.org domain, but they stop resolving on your own domain until you re-subscribe. Plan for that before you put a custom domain on printed material.
Setup still requires access to your DNS provider—MiniLy cannot add the CNAME for you. SSL is automatic but depends on DNS propagating correctly, which is outside MiniLy's control and can occasionally take longer than 30 minutes. And as elsewhere, there is no public API and no white-label layer: this brands the link's domain, not the MiniLy service itself.
